The Black Sea coast is overloaded against the backdrop of an influx of tourists and a shortage of quality hotels, said the head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova in an interview with Izvestia.
“The entire Black Sea coast is maximally loaded, overloaded in places. The problem is that today in the entire south there is a shortage of high-quality, modern hotels, therefore, in the context of limited international air traffic, demand has multiply exceeded supply. And this, as expected, leads to overheating of the market and a dynamic rise in prices, ”said Ms. Doguzova.
She added that the key task of Rostourism for the coming years is “to multiply the number of high-quality, modern, year-round hotels on our warm sea.” “Until 2024, we expect to support the creation of at least 20 thousand new modern rooms in resort and recreational areas. Today, for comparison, there are about 60 thousand numbers for the whole country under federal and international brands, and they are located mainly in large cities. Of course, we are also working on the diversification of domestic destinations and leisure formats, ”noted Zarina Doguzova.
Recall that in the summer of 2021 a record number of aircraft will go to the Black Sea resorts, but experts warn that the industry may not be able to cope with the influx of tourists. Airlines will fly to the cities of the Krasnodar Territory and Crimea about twice as often as in the pre-pandemic year 2019.
