The plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) will take place on June 4, and will be attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Kremlin said that the president will speak at the meeting in person. Some of the guests will join the event in video format, said the presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
“The format of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum will be mixed. The President will be present in person and speak at the plenary session, but … the Emir of Qatar and also Mr. Kurz from Austria … will take part in the plenary session via videoconference, ”said Mr. Peskov during a press call.
In 2020 SPIEF canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. This year’s forum will take place June 2-5 in face-to-face format at the Expoforum Exhibition and Convention Center. SPIEF tickets will cost almost 1 million rubles.
