Putin promised military and security officials to index salaries by 5% in 2023

The salaries of all military personnel and law enforcement officers in Russia in 2023 will be indexed by an additional 5%, said Russian President Vladimir Putin. In particular, payments will increase to employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Penitentiary Service, the Federal Customs Service, the National Guard and other departments.

“In 2023, we will increase the rate of salary indexation by an additional 5% for all servicemen and law enforcement officers,” said Mr Putin at a meeting on economic issues via videoconference (quote from the Kremlin website). The president also assured that the authorities will continue to increase pensions in the coming years. According to the head of state, funds for such indexation are included in the budget. “I also mean lump-sum payments to families in which schoolchildren are growing up, as well as to all Russian pensioners, military personnel, cadets, law enforcement officers,” the head of state explained.
