Mishustin approved the rules for subsidizing SMEs for the purchase of domestic software

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved the rules for granting subsidies for the purchase of Russian software (software) for small and medium-sized enterprises. The decision was made to stimulate the implementation of Russian software and support the domestic IT sector. For these purposes, 7 billion rubles will be allocated until 2024.

“The amount of the discount should be 50% of the average market price. Subsidies are provided directly to software developers. Those who received such a payment undertake to reduce the cost of their products for small and medium-sized businesses so that such enterprises can reduce their costs for purchasing software, ”the government’s website says.

This support measure will be financed by RUB 1 billion this year, RUB 2 billion in 2022, RUB 2 billion in 2023, and RUB 2 billion in 2024. The competitive selection of development companies that will participate in the program is organized by the Russian Fund for the Development of Information Technologies with the assistance of the Ministry of Digital Development.

In May, the government approved subsidies to businesses for the introduction of artificial intelligence. For these purposes, 5.26 billion rubles will be allocated until 2024. Subsidies can be used to purchase software and equipment, pay for programmers’ services, rent office space, and maintain jobs.
