    The Ministry of Construction and Housing and Utilities approved the criteria for standard housing and the requirements for its interior decoration. The document will enter into force on June 6, the agency’s press service said on Thursday.

    “The category of standard housing includes individual residential buildings with an area of ​​up to 150 sq. M on a land plot of not more than 1,500 sq. M, blocks with an area of ​​up to 130 sq. M as part of a residential building of blocked development, apartments with a total area of ​​not more than 100 sq. M. Apartment can be located in an apartment building in which unimpeded access for people with disabilities is provided, as well as in a house that is assigned energy efficiency class B and higher, ”the Ministry of Construction noted.

    The standard housing should have a metal entrance door, interior doors, window blocks with window sills, the walls should be aligned, painted or glued with wallpaper. According to the criteria, the ceilings in such housing should be leveled and painted, or ceiling structures or tension systems should be installed, as well as floor leveling, waterproofing, and sanitary facilities, taps and lighting fixtures for bathrooms. In the kitchen, developers need to put a sink with a cabinet, stove and ventilation grill.

    Requirements for standard housing will allow raising the quality of new buildings and apartments to a higher level, said Nikita Stasishin, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities.

    President Vladimir Putin signed into law on the replacement of the term “economy-class housing” with “standard housing” on January 1, 2018. In the same year, the Russian Ministry of Construction began to develop requirements for standard housing. Deputy Minister Nikita Stasishin noted that they would not be mandatory for commercial developers.
