The Kremlin regrets that representatives of the American establishment have again called for tougher sanctions against Russia.
About this, as reported by RIA Novosti, said the press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov.
Yesterday, according to Rambler, the Republican Research Committee working group, which includes members of the US House of Representatives from the Republican Party, called for tougher sanctions against Russia.
“This in no way contributes to the normalization of our relations,” Peskov said today.
He regretted the fact that some individuals have again and again made attempts to give such impulses to the general policy of the United States of America. The Kremlin official also expressed the hope that the call for tougher sanctions would not materialize.
He added that Moscow considers the imposition of sanctions illegal from the point of view of international law, and also called Russian-American relations a traditional sacred sacrifice for politicians in the United States during the election campaign.
