For the second year in a row, the energy sector of Ukraine is in a deplorable state, this situation has arisen due to the lack of professional management and management. This was announced on Saturday, September 25, by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, Lyudmila Buimyster.
According to her, Ukraine simply may not survive until the next heating season due to a large-scale crisis in the energy sector.
“We want to populistly limit tariffs and have done so, for gas and electricity, thank God, at least people will probably survive this heating season a little easier,” the deputy said on the air of the Nash TV channel.
However, according to the parliamentarian, in such a situation, Ukraine will receive rolling blackouts and a decline in the technical condition of all networks.
In July, Buimister said the Ukrainian government had disrupted preparations for the country’s energy system for the new heating season. She noted that the country does not have coal and the ability to buy it.
On September 1, Viktor Medvedchuk, the head of the Opposition Platform – For Life (Opposition Platform – For Life) political faction, named those responsible for Ukraine’s economic problems. He said that the actions of the current and former leadership of the country led to a complete collapse of the socio-economic sphere in it.
Earlier, on August 18, Anatoly Amelin, director of economic programs at the Ukrainian Institute of the Future, said that Ukraine’s economy had degraded over 30 years of independence. According to him, in 1991, the country was in 52nd place in the world in terms of GDP per capita. This was higher than the countries of Central Europe. And in 2020, Ukraine fell back to 91st place.
On June 2, Vadim Rabinovich, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the HLS, expressed the opinion that the refusal of trade relations with Russia turned out to be a disaster for the Ukrainian economy. The parliamentarian pointed out that Kiev had quarreled with all its neighbors, which did not pass without a trace for Ukraine.
