Gazprom did not book a new volume of additional capacities for gas transit through Ukraine for July, according to data from the Hungarian RBP trading platform.
At the auction, the “Operator of the gas transmission system of Ukraine” put up additional transit capacities for July in the amount of 63.7 million cubic meters per day, but they were unclaimed.
At the same time, on June 21, the main auction was held for booking additional transit capacities of the gas transmission system of Ukraine. Then “Gazprom” bought out the entire offered volume for pumping gas through Ukraine, that is, 15 million cubic meters per day, reports “RIA Novosti”.
As previously reported, Gazprom’s refusal to book the proposed 63.7 million cubic meters per day will exacerbate the already difficult situation with filling European underground storage facilities (UGS). The lack of additional supplies in July could increase gas prices in Europe. This may also be negatively affected by scheduled repairs on the main Russian export routes Yamal-Europe (from 6 to 10 July) and Nord Stream (from 13 to 23 July).
