The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation sees no reason for an increase in prices for bread in Russia, the press service of the department reported. If an unjustified rise in prices is revealed, antimonopoly response measures will be taken, the service noted.
“Taking into account the measures of support provided by the government of the Russian Federation to producers of bread and flour, FAS Russia sees no reason for a rise in prices. In case of revealing an unjustified rise in prices, signs of violation of the antimonopoly legislation, measures of antimonopoly response will be taken, ”it was reported (quoted by RIA Novosti).
Earlier, Kommersant was told in the Verny chain that bread producers had warned retailers about a 7-12% increase in prices for their products since August. They added that suppliers justify the increase in prices by higher prices for raw materials, packaging materials and transportation.
