The Kalmyk department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) sent a warning to Agrotorg LLC (Pyaterochka retail chain) about the need to reduce food prices in stores in the Chernozemelsky District. The department, in the course of checking the cost of food in stores, found that in this region the prices for cabbage and carrots are higher than in other regions of Kalmykia. “Pyaterochka” occupies a dominant position in the Chernozemelsky region, the FAS said. “The Law on the Protection of Competition prohibits economic entities occupying a dominant position from unreasonably setting different retail prices for the same product,” the department said.
