Banknotes of 5 thousand rubles. with the image of Khabarovsk is supposed to be printed until 2035, said the acting governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Mikhail Degtyarev on Wednesday, June 2. The agreement on this, he said, was concluded at a meeting with the head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Elvira Nabiullina in Moscow on June 1.
“We managed to agree that for at least 10-15 years, banknotes depicting the views of our beloved city will remain in circulation. They will be issued along with the new 5,000 bills with views of Yekaterinburg, ”Degtyarev said.
Earlier, in March, the Central Bank announced plans to update the design of such banknotes using the views of Yekaterinburg. These plans caused a negative reaction from the Khabarovsk residents. The banknote depicts a bridge over the Amur and a monument to Count Muravyov-Amursky.
