The volume of sales of Moscow restaurants after the introduction of the QR-codes system has decreased by half, according to the study of the operator of fiscal data (OFD) “Platform OFD”. At the same time, according to analysts’ calculations, the growth of online sales was 2.5 times.
“The average check in Moscow was 1105 rubles, which is 10% lower than last week. The volume of sales in physical terms decreased by 51% in relation to the volume of sales for the same period last week. At the same time, the number of online orders increased by 141%, – TASS cites an excerpt from the study. – With the introduction of additional requirements for restaurants, customers quickly returned to the formats of communication with catering establishments that had been approved during the periods of previous restrictions, and also began to turn more to services from other players food sectors (shops, dark kitchens, etc.) ”.
Since June 28, it is impossible to enter the capital’s restaurants and cafes without a QR code, which is issued to those who have been vaccinated against coronavirus, who have had COVID-19 over the past six months and who have a negative PCR test result. Until July 12, the measure does not apply to summer verandas. The Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia reported that the revenue of Moscow restaurants fell to 90% in the first five days of the QR code system.
