A resident of the Orenburg region caught a giant catfish. The fish is 210 cm long and weighs 51 kg. The fish was caught in the Ural River in the Tashlinsky region.
It took Yuri Ivannikov and his friends 15 minutes to pull out such a catfish. They are going to cook fish soup from the head of the catfish, and smoke the rest of the meat and turn it into a delicacy.
Ivannikov said that this is not his first big catch, but certainly the largest one. In 2011, he managed to catch a catfish weighing 49.5 kg, and in 2016 and 2017 he caught fish weighing 40 and 42 kg, writes Ural56.Ru.
Earlier it was reported that the remains of marine reptiles were found in the Lysogorsky district of the Saratov region, presumably inhabiting the Volga region about 80 million years ago.
