Lines of heavy trucks are growing at the checkpoints of the Ussuriysk customs “Poltavka”, “Pogranichny” and “Kraskino” of the Far Eastern Customs Administration (DVTU). Now about 500 cars are waiting to cross the border with China. At the same time, over the previous day, 157 trucks were issued to leave the Russian Federation. Such data are contained in the reports of the DVTU.
In early May, about 400 vehicles were waiting in line in front of the Pogranichny, Poltavka, Kraskino checkpoints. Then this number gradually began to grow.
“Currently, up to 150 units of vehicles pass through international automobile checkpoints from Primorye to China every day. Thus, 500 cars waiting in line to pass through checkpoints on Russian territory will cross the border in the next three to four days. At the same time, a significant part of cars are parked near checkpoints and are not ready for immediate international transportation, since they are awaiting cargo or paperwork, ”Alexei Starichkov, head of the Primorsky Territory International Cooperation Agency, told reporters.
Last year, Chinese authorities twice restricted truck drivers from crossing the border to combat coronavirus infection. Because of this, queues of trucks accumulated on the Russian side.
